In John, Jesus continues his final discourse with His disciples. The theme and tone is one of encouragement and concern. He again mentions the role of the Holy Spirit as a comforter.
In 1 Peter, we see an older and wiser Peter who is writing to believers. 1 and 2 Peter are an especially good read for new believers. Peter, being Peter, is short, to the point, and is instructive as well as encouraging.
As you read these letters, think about your life. How’s your faith doing? What constraints are you putting upon your life to keep you from falling back into old habits? What are you adding to your faith walk that will help you move forward?
